Resfest calls for submissions

Global travelling festival on hunt for shorts to show in its 10th year.

by Amber Wilkinson

Resfest film festival has announced its early and late deadlines in a call for short film submissions to be shown in its 10th year.

Planning its biggest tour yet, the global travelling festival of innovative film, music, art, design and culture, has called upon British and Irish creatives to submit their best, and most cutting-edge short-form work.

The Festival kicks off in New York in late September before travelling to some 40 cities, on six continents. It provides a unique opportunity for outstanding filmmakers to announce themselves to a national and international audience.

Resfest showcases work in all genres and visual forms, including narrative, documentary, experimental and design-oriented work. Entries can be live action, animated or hybrid. Submitted works may be shot or created in any format: film, analogue / digital video, or entirely on computer.

Resfest said: "The main criterion is Innovation! Entries should have been produced within the last two years. Acceptable submission formats are VHS, DVD, miniDV and Beta SP (NTSC preferred); acceptable exhibition formats are miniDV, Digital Beta or Beta SP (NTSC preferred)."

Filmmakers have until April 14th to meet the early deadline and May 12th to meet the late deadline.
