by Amber Wilkinson

Principal photography on Abraham's Point, which will feature The Office star Mackenzie Crook, began in Wales today.

The film will shoot on location in Cardiff and the Pembrokeshire Coast for five weeks.

The supporting cast includes Joseph Millson (Casino Royale), Mariah Gale, winner of last year’s Ian Charleson Award, and Harriet Walter (Atonement, Babel, Sense And Sensibility).

A spokesman said: "Abraham's Point is a poignant and often funny film of one man's search for redemption.

"Comet Snape (Mackenzie Crook) has not been home or seen his parents for 15 years. Living in a west London tower block he spends his days restoring antiques and his nights in haunted insomnia.

"When his strange hallucinations and tormented mind urge him to steal a grandfather clock, he sets off on a physical and spiritual journey back to the heart of his family, to face the tragedy that tore them apart all those years ago. "

The film is the debut feature fo writer and director Wyndham Price. It is a Film Partnership production in association with Spinning Head Films with financing coming from the Film Agency for Wales with the support of Arts Council of Wales National Lottery funding and Limelight VCT plc.  Moviehouse Entertainment is handling worldwide sales.
