Two films stood out among the winners as the 2013 Online Film Critics Society (OFCS) Awards were announced today. Ben Affleck's CIA drama Argo won Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay (for Chris Terrio), while The Master saw Paul Thomas Anderson named Best Director with Philip Seymour Hoffman as Best Supporting Actor, receiving more nominations than any other film.

Daniel Day Lewis took Best Actor for his work in US presidential biopic Lincoln while another CIS story, Zero Dark Thirty, saw Best Actress awarded to Jessica Chastain. Best Supporting Actress was won by Ann Hathaway for her work in Les Miserables.

Jafar Panahi's This Is Not A Film, made while he was banned from working by the Iranian government, won Best Documentary, and Panahi also received a special award for his commitment to the industry. Iconic composer Ennio Morricone was given a lifetime achievement award.

There was a British win in the Cinematography category with Roger Deakin recognised for his outstanding work on Skyfall, the most successful James Bond film to date, which it has now been announced will enjoy a special celebration at this year's Oscars. Meanwhile, Best Animated Film went to the spooky but sweet Paranorman.

The OFCS is an international organisation made up of leading critics whose work is primarily published on the internet.
