Danny Boyle talks Trance, Brian Cox on his career, plus plenty of festival action

There's lots going on at screens around the UK this week and here are some of the highlights:

London - Club at charity The House of St Barnabas will host an in conversation evening with veteran actor Brian Cox on Thursday, March 21 at 7.30pm. The actor will discuss his career with HOSB founding member Richard Strange. The talk will kick off a season of live music events and conversations. Tickets, priced £10, are available from Wegottickets.

Manchester - ¡Viva! Film Festival is underway at Cornerhouse, Manchester, until Sunday, March 24. Highlights include Cannes award-winner After Lucia and werewolf comedy horror Game Of Werewolves. Stratford City - Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle will host an exclusive preview screening of psychological thriller Trance - starring James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson - at VueXtreme on Friday, March 22. He will take part in a post-screening Q&A session. Limited tickets are available from www.myvue.com

Edinburgh - Marking 10 years since the invasion of Iraq, Filmhouse will host a weekend of Reel Iraq screenings form March 21- 24. Highlights include Son Of Babylon and Dreams of Sparrows. Tickets from Filmhouse. Other events are being held across Scotland, for details visit the official site.

London - The London leg of the Human Rights Watch Film Festival is taking place until March 22. Highlights include In The Shadow Of The Son and Nowhere Home. See the official site for details and read our coverage .

Bristol - Tron + Man Vs Machine After Party at Watershed. After a screening of the 1982 cult film, there will be a free Man Vs Machine After Party with a Kraftwerk/Daft Punk-inspired retro DJ set from Bronnt Industries Kapital. Tickets from Watershed
