Juan José Campanella's 3D animation Futbolín will kick-off the 61st edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival on September 20.

The film, from the Oscar-winning director of The Secret In Their Eyes, tells the story of a Amadeo, a barman who plays table football better than anyone else. When Grosso, a star of world football, who grew up in the town, decides to take revenge over the only game he has ever lost, Amadeo discovers that the players on his table can speak and embarks on an adventure to save the girl of his dreams and his town.

The film was released in Argentina last month - under the title Metegol - and has already been a hit, achieving the best opening of an Argentinian movie and already clocking up more than a million viewers.

We'll be bringing you reports from San Sebastian next month and you can read about the full line-up so far, here.
