The International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI has named Blue Is The Warmest Colour (La vie d'Adèle: Chapitre 1&2) the winner of its Grand Prix for Best Film of the Year.

The award is just the latest accolade to be picked up by Abdellatif Kechiche's drama starring Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux as two women who fall unexpectedly and passionately in love, which also won the Palme d'Or and critics' prize at Cannes.

The prize will be awarded to the Kechiche and the film's producer Brahim Chioua at the opening gala of the 61st edition of the San Sebastian Festival on September 20.

In other news from the Spanish festival, the juries and additional titles have been announced. Far From Heaven director Todd Haynes will head the official jury, which will also feature musician David Byrne, directors Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (A Castle In Italy) and Cesc Gay (A Gun In Each Hand) and actors Paulina García (Gloria) and Diego Luna (who has produced Paraíso, which joins the New Directors line-up) and producer Mariela Besuievsky.

The Kutxa New Directors award jury will be chaired by screenwriter Marina Stavenhagen (Streeters), the Horizontes jury led by producer Bruno Bettati and the Irizar Basque award jury will be chaired by director Asier Altuna (Bertsolari).

In addition to Paraíso, directed by Marianna Chenillo, Jean-Marc Vallée's Dallas Buyers Club and Arnaud & Jean-Marie Larrieu's Love Is The Perfect Crime will join the Pearls line-up, while Prado's Passion (Juan Carlos González Asenjo, José Morillas Cantero) and Agustín Crespi's Vincente Ferrer will screen as TVE Galas.
