by Jennie Kermode

The New York Film Critics' Awards were announced last night, with American Hustle winning the coveted Best Picture award. It also took Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress (for Jennifer Lawrence, whose work in several films has attracted a lot of positive attention from critics this year).
