Online Film Critics' Society awards announced

12 Years A Slave takes Best Picture and four more gongs.

The winners of this year's Online Film Critics' Society awards were announced today, with 12 Years A Slave the outright winner, taking not just Best Picture but three of the acting awards. Selected by an international group of critics, these awards represent a diverse base of interests, with over 250 people contributing votes in a tightly fought contest.

Alongside the awards for this year's films, a special award was presented in memory of Roger Ebert and his invaluable contribution to film criticism.

The Society also revealed its top ten list of films that ere ineligible for the awards as they didn't have a US release: Closed Curtain, Gloria, Like Father, Like Son, Our Sunhi, R100, The Rocket, Stranger By the Lake, We Are the Best!, Le Weekend, Why Don't You Play in Hell?
