Jazz drummer drama wins US Prize, To Kill A Man takes World Dramatic

Damien Chazelle's jazz drumming drama Whiplash beat a path to the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, which is based on the short which won the top prize at Sundance last year, stars Miles Teller as a driven young musician who locks horns with a sadistic conductor (JK Simmons).

The World Dramatic prize went to Alejandro Fernandez for To Kill A Man, with Andrew Droz Palermo and Tracy Droz Tragos taking home the US Grand Jury Prize for documenatry for Rich Hill and the World Cinema Grand Jury Documentary prize going to Talal Derki for Return To Homs.
