Police investigating the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman yesterday arrested four people in raids on three apartments on the same New York street, it has emerged. Robert Vineberg, 57, and Thomas Kushman, 48, have been charged with felony drug possession, while Max Rosenblum, 22, and Juliana Luchkiw, 22, have been charged with misdemeanor drug possession.

It has not yet been confirmed whether or not any of the four knew the actor or were directly involved in his death. 350 glassine bags containing a substance believed to be heroin were found during the raids.

The cause of Hoffman's death has yet to be confirmed but police have now formally noted that he was found with a syringe in his arm. A former addict, he also had 50 bags of heroin and several empty bags in his apartment. Tributes have continued to pour in from friends, colleagues and fans around the world.
