The American Film Institute (AFI) has revealed the list of what it considers to be this year's "most outstanding achievements in the art of the moving image." The films are listed in alphabetical order and re not ranked. "This is the goal of AFI Awards — to bring together our community as colleagues, not competitors, and to shine a proper light on their collective efforts to entertain and enlighten the world," said AFI President & CEO Bob Gazzale.

This year's jury was chaired by Tom Pollock, former Vice Chairman of MCA and Chairman of Universal Pictures. The winners will receive their wards at a gala luncheon in Los Angeles on January 8, when the jurors will discuss the reasons for their support for each film.
