Two days after Uma Thurman described being injured in a car crash on the set of Kill Bill, Quentin Tarantino has responded, saying that insisting she drive the car herself was the biggest regret of his life. In an interview with Deadline Hollywood, he took responsibility for placing her behind the wheel and said she had a right to blame him.

Denying that he knew there was anything wrong with the car, the director added that both he and Thurman had their suspicions about the reason for the crash. He also recalled confronting Harvey Weinstein about his alleged sexual assault on the actress and insisting that he apologise to her, saying that it was at that point that he came to believe there was a pattern in the producer's behaviour towards women and reiterating that he wishes he had been less complacent about it.

The last two days have seen a public outcry against Tarantino. He maintains that he and Thurman remain friends.
