Edinburgh International Film Festival has announced it will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Blade with an expanded cinema event EIFF Play: Eternal Night.

The event on Sunday, May 27, will run from 7.30pm until late and is taking place in partnership with Hidden Door Festival, with tickets priced at £17/15.

Aside from the film by Stephen Norrington - which stars Wesley Snipes as a vampire half-breed aiming to rid the world of fellow bloodsuckers - the evening will also feature hip hop and electro from DJ Nasty P and DJ EH-1, which organisers say "will give the look and feel of walking into this pulsating and chilling film, which paved the way for the Marvel universe as it exists today".

The festival's artistic director Mark Adams said: “We are thrilled to present our special event EIFF Play: Eternal Night, which will take audiences on an exciting journey into the heart of the Blade legacy, with seamless integration of this trailblazing film into a dark and mysterious vampire club night. Prepare to expect the unexpected! We are delighted to be partnering with the brilliant Hidden Door Festival at the spectacular Leith Theatre – it really will be a thrilling night to remember.”

Tickets are on sale from the festival website.
