This year's Halloween Frightfest even in London is to open with Julian Richards' Reborn, it was announced today. Richards, whose film Daddy's Girl recently premièred at Raindance, has assembled a star cast including Barbara Crampton, Rae Dawn Chong and Chaz Bono for this taut thriller about a stillborn girl who is resurrected in a bizarre experiment by a mortuary attendant and eventually goes looking for her birth mother.

Also showing at the event, which will take place at the Cineworld Leicester Square on the 3rd of November, are alternate universe horror fantasy Parallel, sleep paralysis chiller Mara and techy tale of terror Peripheral. A mysterious disaster hits Sweden in The Unthinkable and there's a bit of giallo magic in Abrakadabra, plus a couple of shorts to round off the day.

"After a hugely successful Arrow Video FrightFest at the Cineworld Empire Leicester Square this August, we are thrilled to be returning to such an auspicious venue for our annual sort-of-Halloween, all-screaming, all-entrancing Shriek Saturday," said Frightfest co-director Alan Jones. "Team FrightFest searched long and hard for the most trenchant, traumatising and trend-setting movies, which we hope you’ll remember for a long time to come."

Tickets go on sale on Saturday 6 October.
