Beasts of No Nation star Idris Elba today revealed that he has tested positive for Covid-19, having checked his status after he found out that someone he had recently spent time with was infected.

"I feel OK, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus," he wrote on Twitter. "Stay home people and be pragmatic."

Stressing that people without symptoms can still spread the virus, the urged people to be sensible, maintain social distance and wash their hands.

"We live in a divided world right now. We can all feel it. it's been bullshit. But now's the time for solidarity," he said. "There are so many people that have been affected, from those that have lost people that they love to those that have lost their livelihoods. This is real."

Actor Kristofer Hivju, who recently starred in Fast & Furious 8 but is probably best known for his performance as Tormund in Game Of Thrones, also revealed that he has the coronavirus.

"I only have mild symptoms of a cold," he said. "There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful... Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy!"
