"Blichfeldt keeps things simple and lets the process tell its own story."

Emilie Blichfeldt huddles in close to the coals in this documentary which captures the work of a blacksmith in Sund, Norway. She wastes no time in scene-setting and the man at work lets his various hammers do the talking as he crafts a bird out of wrought iron.

The smithy has an intensity of look and action that matches the fire at the film's heart, as we watch him work quickly, gulping back his coffee with the same urgency that he beats the metal while it is hot.

Blichfeldt keeps things simple and lets the process tell its own story, a beautiful backdrop of mountains outside his workshop offering a cool, silent contrast to the heat within.
