Haunted

That the opening credits of this short - shot as whispy threads of smoke - are the best thing about it is not a good thing.
Imitation may be the most sincerest form of flattery but, in the film world, you need to take a theme and run with it, finding your own route out. Sadly, Jason Impey's story takes only the path well-trodden by films such as Blair Witch and a raft of similar shorts.
The premise is simple. A man goes to investigate a poltergeist. But there's just no atmosphere. Think Yvette Fielding in Most Haunted but with about a tenth of the chills.
Hauntings by their very nature should be scary but here the build up is too long and the pay off not clever enough.
