This digitally animated short opens with a moth flying into a shed, a bold statement given how many members of the insect kingdom have been rendered in pixels by more famous names.

Søren Bendt Pedersen does an admirable job, nonetheless. With engaging, even cute character design, Hum is about a lonely little robot who has a record player for a head. There's a number of nice touches, including a lovingly depicted rack of tools, but for all the originality of its character designs it breaks no new ground in tone or plot.

Despite this, it's enjoyable, and it is the cute little robot that sells it.
