I Am Packman

I Am Packman

The camerawork is intentially crude. Is this part of the Packman message? Has out-of-focus become the new chic and black-and-white a tribute to experimentation?

Bedsit sleaze stalks the skeletal script. A boy prepares his room for the arrival of The Girl. He peers into the camera, as if to nudge'n'wink it. He smooths the duvet in preparation.

The Girl arrives, is shown into the room, where she waits alone. The camera remains static, recording her in jerky silent-movie style, half in/half out of focus. She's bored and so pees in the chest-of-drawers. She flirts with the camera, as if it cares.

An absence of storyline leaves the film open to accusations of pretentiousness, unless, of course, this is a prelude to amazing sex. If so, it hits the delete button before turning into a voyeuristic masterclass.

PS Why Packman?
