Can Jennifer Aniston play any other role than that of an all-American gal who is unlucky in love and waiting for Mr. Right to make her life complete? She churns that stereotype out yet again in this boring romance about two people who meet the right person at the wrong time and have to risk giving love a chance.
Aniston plays Eloise Chandler, a florist who falls for self-help guru Dr Burke Ryan (Aaron Eckhart) when she bumps into him at a hotel where he is hosting a seminar. Ryan is a widower whose book about confronting your grief and moving on has launched him to stardom - but in reality he cannot follow his own advice. He is struggling to get over his lost love, while Eloise has been hurt in the past and sworn off men.
Can they realise that if they let go of the past, love can happen?
The most romantic thing about this movie is the lovingly shot images of Seattle - the city looks stunning. It's certainly more captivating chemistry between Aniston and Eckhart, who fail to hold your attention.
The best performances come from John Carroll Lynch as a man whose life has crumbled after the death of his son and Martin Sheen as Burke's father-in-law. Fans of Aniston will enjoy this though, as will chick flick lovers, who are bound to be teary-eyed at the soppy ending.
