Myra's Story

****

The easiest way to hammer home a point is to keep it simple.

That’s exactly what Gary and Myra Gentleman do with their brief – but poignant – documentary on the horrifying aspects of domestic abuse, even if you aren’t the target.

Myra sits and recounts her experiences of violence in the home, which frequently saw her dad attack her mum. Her testimony is both eloquent and moving. Intercut with it are various statistics relating to domestic abuse today. You’ll be considering the fact that one in four suffer abuse in their lifetime, along with a whole raft of other facts long after the credits have rolled.
