Naked Rambler

There was a man who walked from Lands End to John O'Groats naked, wearing only a pair of boots, a floppy hat, a backpack and a flag that read, The Freedom To Be Yourself.

To accompany the song Shore Light by a band with a pretentious name, director Chris Waitt follows the naked walker as he strides forcefully across a deserted beach and over Highland bogs in a light drizzle.

As an example of the British love of the eccentric, there is something rather beautiful about a bearded traveller, with his little flag, protesting an individual's right to startle dogs and ladies in tweeds, resolutely determined, despite the laughter of strangers, or inhospitable weather.

However, the film is not about him. It's about the song, which fits easily into the concept of purity, isolation and acoustic contemplation.
