Over The Hill

Winner of the McLaren Award EIFF 2007. Director Peter Baynton's style echoes the Cartoon Network hit Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends and draws on influences from Craig McCracken and Genndy Tartovsky, who in turn drew on the 70s style of The Pink Panther Show, with strong characters and sparse, colourful backgrounds.
It centres on an old peoples home which might have a sinister, Matrix-like secret. It's told with a lot of fun touches and was the most commercially astute animation featuring in the 2007 McLaren programme, and sure to delight young and old alike.
