Out in the woods, a couple in evening dress, satiated from a party, break the early morning silence with their heavy tread. In a clearing, they come across an object that is alien and fearful. They gather it up and bring it home.

The object is a severed bear's foot.

In the tradition of Gothic horror, this thing takes possession of those who found it. Without explanation, or proof of supernatural power, the claw drives the couple mad.

The film is shot in a series of fades. Sound effects are used with discretion and no words are spoken. The camera is an inquisitive eye and the actors respond to this mime show with admirable seriousness.
