Speed Date

The world of the speed dater in micro is undoubtedly a rich vein from which to draw comedy, yet somehow this short - a finalist in the Future Films Faster Shorts competition - falls rather flat.
George (Oliver Wright, who also co-wrote the film) is looking for the perfect woman and we see him have one conversation split with responses from the various possible loves.
One or two of the lines hit the mark but there aren't enough laughs to sustain it. With a tighter script this would work better but it still lacks ambition in terms of direction.
Out to own as part of the Final Cut: Take Three DVD short film collection.
