St Mathurin's School For Practical Joking

CBBC Scotland's Tartan Smalls strand continues to produce some excellent short films in conjunction with Scottish Screen.
Past gems have included school yarn The Choir and this year's productions feature Show Ponies by Neil Jack (who achieved accolades for debut short The Tree Officer) and this fun tale of pranksters in the classroom.
In a world where Harry Potter rules, the idea of a school for practical jokers is perfect - and what kid wouldn't want to spend their days learning how to make stink bombs or chasing their PE master around with pea shooters?
Stanley isn't finding this school a complete barrel of laughs, though, and neither are the school inspectors... but who will end up with the last laugh?
It's a simple premise - and I won't spoil the story here - which works well. With the acting strong and the plot tight. It may be a little predictable for the adults in the audience but smaller people who haven't yet racked up years of Beano reading will doubtless lap it up.
