The Last Wheel

In a dark, dismal prison, the inmates dream of escape - and an ingenious tattoo artist holds the key to freedom.
Promoting the idea that art and innovation opens doors, the tattooist inks designs on his fellow prisoners that allow them to flee their dank cells.
The concept is basically TV series Prison Break on a vastly smaller scale. The show’s Michael Schofield escaped by having prison blueprints tattooed on his body before he was caged. This short may not have the length, budget or suspense of the show but it is still entertaining and has an good mix of live action and animation.
There is no dialogue, just strong visuals and background noise, such as bright light and birdsong signifying freedom, while dimness and dripping water add to the claustrophobic, depressing ambience of the prison.
