Bob Fosse's All That Jazz starring Roy Scheider with Ann Reinking and Ben Vereen; John Ford's Drums Along The Mohawk starring Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert; John M. Stahl's Leave Her To Heaven with Gene Tierney and Cornel Wilde; Stanley Donen's Two For The Road with Albert Finney and Audrey Hepburn; Elia Kazan's Wild River starring Montgomery Clift and Lee Remick; and Martin Scorsese's The King Of Comedy with Robert De Niro and Jerry Lewis are the six free New York Film Festival Opening Day screenings.

Robert Zemeckis’s The Walk in 3D, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe Petit with Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon and Ben Schwartz, was originally scheduled as the Opening Night Gala on September 25.
Thanks to Pope Francis visiting New York, you get the rare opportunity to spend the day watching these wonderful restored classics of cinema where they are best seen - on the big screen.
The Walk will now have its World Premiere with four screenings on Saturday, September 26 - 6:00pm and 9:00pm at Alice Tully Hall; 6:15pm and 9:15pm at the Walter Reade Theater.

This series of free screenings is in celebration of 25 years for The Film Foundation and 100 years for Fox. The Film Society of Lincoln Center gives special thanks to Margaret Bodde and Jennifer Ahn of The Film Foundation and the Fox team including Jim Gianopis and Schawn Belston for the restored classics.
This year's New York Film Festival runs from September 25 through October 11.
