Money Monster |
The first title announcement for this year's Cannes Film Festival has been made, and it's Jodie Foster's Money Monster. Starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, the film tells the story of a television stock market pundit who is taken hostage by an aggrieved, bankrupt viewer. It was shot in New York last year and features a soundtrack by Bruce Springsteen.
Despite its high profile, it does not appear that Money Monster will be opening the festival, and at present it's unclear what will. Thierry Fremaux's team are apparently still watching submitted films and have yet to finalise their decisions.
The festival will run from 11 to 22 May and as usual we will be bringing you extensive coverage.
