In the garbage-sticky landfill of horror comics, jokes are black or dead. Here they are scarlet and alive. David Ferguson Reid's script dismembers cliche and gives it new limbs.
Michael (James McArdle) and Sarah (Jade Clark) are forced to live in the same house as their mother's slob of a boyfriend. She's away and there's nothing they can do about it, until Michael discovers something odd about their wheelie bin. It eats people.
Recycled is deliciously inventive and enormous fun. The performances of the kids are as confident as the director's use of special effects. Even the twist in the tail is unexpected.
