One day a group of kids on the autistic spectrum climbed up Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. This is the film they made when they got back.

A story should naturally begin at the beginning, so here we begin with the Big Bang and the creation of the universe. This means we can meet dinosaurs (who really get on each other's nerves) and see the famous rock as an active volcano before it settles down. Later adventures introduce us to a fox, a druid, a group of lions, and some ducks. All initially appear to be non sequiturs but go on to fit neatly into the complex tale. The effect is like a childhood game in which different types of toy are fitted into the same imaginary universe.

The animation in this film takes a similar approach and much of its is beautifully done. A wide variety of different tools and materials are used: pencils, chalk, felt tipped pens, plastic toys, plastic sheeting, soft toys and shapes cut out of card. Yet despite this, the overall look is surprisingly cohesive. The story brings together astronomy, ecology, monetary theatre and the simple joy of exploration in a similar manner. For younger viewers, it will be educational. It's also a grand adventure.
