EIFF 2000: Day 11

O Brother, Where Are All The Stars?

by Trinity

The hottest selling ticket of this year's festival, O Brother, Where Art Thou? did not come with a free George Clooney appearance thrown in. In fact, none of the stars, nor the Coen Brothers, made it to the screening. Maybe next year?

Write On!

The big party tonight celebrated the Script Factory at Edinburgh. There have been several big names at these screenwriting events over the course of the festival including Saffron Burrows, Lynne Ramsay, and Jimmy Nail. Some of the people involved gathered along with many current and aspiring scriptwriters to get rid of their writers' block in traditional fashion - lots of alcohol!

Fancy Meeting You Here!

Someone (allegedly) spotted in the Cameo Cinema Bar was Guy Ritchie, whose new film Snatch premieres in London tomorrow. Many of the Brit Pack pop into the Cameo Bar when they're in Edinburgh, and past faces include the likes of Ewan McGregor and John Hannah. Today it was the turn of comedienne Josie Lawrence, in a fetching bright blue raincoat, who'd popped in to catch a screening of mate Stephen Tompkinson's Psycho impression in Hotel Splendide.

So just hang around the Cameo Bar - you never know who you might see!
