EIFF 2002: Day 4

Heather Graham and Jimi Mistry at The Guru premiere.

by Weegeet

Hello again, chaps and chapettes!

The big event of the day was the world premiere at the Edinburgh UGC of The Guru.

Hollywood beauty Heather Graham, rising star Jimi Mistry and director, Daisy Von Scherler Mayer were all happy to attend. Needless to say, all eyes were on Miss. Graham, who is remarkably tall, and wears far more make-up than she requires.

The film itself hasn't received the greatest reviews, but at the press conference earlier today everyone seemed to be wondering if Bollywood is going to really hit the mainstream with this film. And what Heather is up to at the moment, of course.

A Scottish cow's kinda moosic

On revealing that this is her first visit to Scotland, she recalled a queer anecdote. Yesterday, on a visit to the Scottish countryside, she decided it was suddenly appropriate to sing to a cow in a field.

However, when she sang Brigadoon the cow ran away from her; but lo-and-behold, when she sang the chorus-line from Gypsy, it came simpering back.

Oh, to have been a fly on that cow's back!

Edinburgh too hot for Heather

Later that night, I decided to make a change from the usual haunts, and moseyed on down to The Bongo Club.

Before arriving I was texted frantically by different sources informing me that the aforementioned Miss Graham was tripping the light fantastic there as we wrote. I arrived to discover that she had just left, complaining to the bouncer on the way out about how hot it was. Well, this is Scotland after all!
