Guillaume Nicloux's bewitching Valley Of Love star Isabelle Huppert in 2013 presented Abuse Of Weakness with Catherine Breillat at the New York Film Festival. This year she has two films - Paul Verhoeven's Elle with Laurent Lafitte and Anne Consigny, based on the novel by Philippe Djian with a screenplay by David Birke, and also Mia Hansen-Løve's Things To Come (L’Avenir) with André Marcon and Edith Scob.

In 2014, Isabelle Huppert performed on stage with Cate Blanchett and Elizabeth Debicki in New York during the Lincoln Center Festival in the Sydney Theater Company production of Jean Genet's The Maids, directed by Benedict Andrews at City Center.

This year she will star in Phaedra(s), directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski with text composed of excerpts from Sarah Kane's Phaedra’s Love, JM Coetzee’s novel Elizabeth Costello, and writing in collaboration with Wajdi Mouawad at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Harvey Theater during the Next Wave Festival.

The Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe production of Phaedra(s) with music by Paweł Mykietyn and Bruno Helstroffer, video design by Denis Guéguin, set and costume design by Małgorzata Szczęśniak runs from September 13 through September 18.

The 54th New York Film Festival opens on September 30 with Ava DuVernay’s documentary The 13th, and will close on October 16 with James Gray's The Lost City Of Z.
