Fest in the City returns to EIFF

Free open-air cinema screenings will return to Edinburgh from 15 to 17 June. The event, which has been running since 2011, has proved popular with locals and visitors.

The screenings at the city's St Andrew Square Garden will include vintage classics Casablanca and Big, alongside more recent family favourites, including Thor: Ragnarok and Paddington 2.

To celebrate the little bear with the big heart, sponsors Mackays will be serving up complimentary Dundee Marmalade sandwiches at the Paddington and Paddington 2 screenings, which will also play host to a fancy dress competition.

EIFF artistic director Mark Adams said: “Our annual selection of free screenings are always the perfect way to get in the movie mood in the weekend before the Film Festival begins. From Casablanca to The Greatest Showman, this is a selection of great films that will appeal to film fans young and old.”
