Edinburgh Film Festival has announced pre-festival screening of Toy Story 4 on 16 June, ahead of the festival's opening night on the 19th.

The Disney•Pixar film will be released in cinemas across the UK on 21 June sees Woody (Tom Hanks) try to convince a new member of the gang, Forky (Tony Hale) that he should embrace being a toy rather than viewing himself as "trash", they also go on an adventurous road trip that sees them run into old friend Bo Peep (Annie Potts).

Mark Adams, EIFF Artistic Director added: “We love and value our long-standing relationship with Disney•Pixar, so it is a real thrill that we can show this animated delight to film fans just before the festival starts. The arrival of a new Toy Story film really is something to celebrate.”

The festival will open on 19 June with Boyz In The Wood, as previously announced, and run until 30 June.
