The Edinburgh International Film Festival is to host a weekend of free outdoor screenings as part of Scotland's Year of Coasts and Waters.

The Film Fest on the Forth will take place on June 6 and 7, ahead of the festival's 74th edition. It will be held at Port Edgar Marina, South Queensferry on the banks of the Firth of Forth, which overlooks the Firth's three iconic bridges.

The festival says the programme - which has yet to be announced - will contain films with aquatic themes and classic Scots cinema.

EIFF is not the only film organisation to be getting involved with the Coasts and Waters theme. Screen Argyll and A Kind of Seeing will also be presenting Launch!, a film and live music experience diving into the heritage and cultural legacy of the RNLI and which will tour from Glasgow to Lerwick. For more information about Launch! visit Screen Argyll.
