25th New York Rendez-Vous with French Cinema lineup announced

Hirokazu Kore-eda’s The Truth to open festival

UniFrance and Film at Lincoln Center announced the 25th Rendez-Vous with French Cinema lineup of 22 feature films and free Special Events. Opening the festival is Hirokazu Kore-eda’s The Truth (La Vérité), starring Catherine Deneuve (also in Cédric Kahn’s Happy Birthday - Fête De Famille), Juliette Binoche (Safy Nebbou’s Who You Think I Am - Celle Que Vous Croyez), and Ethan Hawke, who is currently at Sundance in Michael Almereyda’s Tesla opposite Kyle MacLachlan, and on the US Dramatic Competition jury with Wash Westmorland, Dee Rees, and Isabella Rossellini.

Bruno Dumont’s Joan Of Arc (Jeanne), Rebecca Zlotowski’s An Easy Girl (Une Fille Facile), Claude Lelouch’s The Best Years Of A Life (Les Plus Belles Années D’Une Vie), Nicolas Pariser’s Alice And The Mayor (Alice Et Le Maire), Alice Winocour’s Proxima, Pascal Bonitzer’s Spellbound (Les Envoûtés), Cédric Klapisch’s Someone, Somewhere (Deux Moi), and Christophe Honoré’s On A Magical Night (Chambre 212), are among the highlights along with a talk on Helen Scott, by Serge Toubiana, president of uniFrance.

Stéphane Batut, Lucie Borleteau, Maïmouna Doucouré, Mehdi Idir, Claude Lelouch with Valérie Perrin, Chiara Mastroianni, Mounia Meddour, Safy Nebbou, Nicolas Pariser, Bruno Dumont, Sarah Suco, Pascal Bonitzer, Cédric Klapisch, Alice Winocour, and Rebecca Zlotowski are among the talent expected to participate in post-screening Q&As. Juliette Binoche and Ethan Hawke will introduce The Truth on opening night and discuss earlier in the day their working relationship with Hirokazu Kore-eda.

The 25th edition of Rendez-Vous with French Cinema, organised by Film at Lincoln Center’s Florence Almozini with UniFrance, will run from March 5 through March 15 at the Walter Reade Theater in New York.
