After a strong showing in the nominations, Andrew Haigh's evocative mystery All Of Us Strangers has become the big success story at this year's British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs). Winning Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Music Supervision and (jointly) Best Supporting Performance. Best Lead Performance went to Mia McKenna-Bruce for her work in How To Have Sex.

Rye Lane, which led the nominations, ended up winning only two awards: Best Breakthrough Performance (for Vivian Oparah) and Best Original Music.

"We are very proud that All of Us Strangers, How To Have Sex and Earth Mama have received such well-deserved accolades at this year’s BIFAs," said Daniel Battsek and Ollie Madden of Film4.
