Full Frightfest line-up revealed

Get ready for Curse of Chucky and Antisocial.

by Jennie Kermode

The full line-up for this year's Film4 Frightfest was announced today. With The Dead 2: India headlining, highlights will include the return of everyone's favourite demonic doll in Curse Of Chucky, plague horror Antisocial and Renny Harlin thriller The Dyatlov Pass Incident. Mutants and monsters populate Frankenstein's Army and Outpost 3: Rise Of The Spetsnaz while there are documentary delights to be found as haunted house fans go head to head in The American Scream.

This year's festival has a strong retrospective strand with classics The Fall Of The House Of Usher and Wake In Fright. The guest list is yet to be announced but there are hints that it could include some very high profile figures. The Quiz From Hell will return once again and there will bee assorted small competitions and give-aways.

"Fourteen years down the line from our seminal start in 2000, the ambitions of the Film4 FrightFest remain exactly the same: to promote horror and fantasy in all its rich and varied ways, to foster the latest in world genre cinema, to highlight our vibrant home-grown independent sector and to invite an international array of directors, actors and filmmakers to discuss their work," said festival co-director Alan Jones.

The festival will run from 22 to 26 August.
