There may be a fraternal fall-out on the Cannes Film Festival jury this year with Joel Coen and Ethan Coen as presidents but with equal voting rights. The two directors, screenwriters and producers do not always speak with the same voice.

Their cohorts in the task of selecting the prize-winners from the films in competition have just been announced and include four women and five men, among them actors Sophie Marceau, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller, and Rossy de Palma.

The jury is spread between Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Mali, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

The prize jamboree culminating in the award of the Festival’s top prize, the Palme d’or, will be announced on stage during the Festival Closing Ceremony on Sunday 24 May.

The jury line-up
