New York Film Festival announces Directors Dialogues

On Cinema talk also scheduled.

Todd Haynes, director of Carol (starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara), Mountains May Depart (Shan He Gu Ren) director Jia Zhangke and Where To Invade Next director Michael Moore will participate in the 53rd New York Film Festival HBO sponsored Directors Dialogues.

Hou Hsiao-hsien, director of The Assassin (Nie Yin Niang) and New York Film Festival Director Kent Jones will have an On Cinema master class conversation. The Boys From Fengkuei (Feng Qui Lai De Ren) will be screening in the festival's Revivals section.

Carol, Mountains May Depart, Where To Invade Next and The Assassin are in the main slate of the festival.

Directors Dialogues

  • Jia Zhangke - Tuesday, September 29, 6:00pm
  • Michael Moore - Sunday, October 4, 3:00pm
  • Todd Haynes - Saturday, October 10, 12:00pm

On Cinema

  • Hou Hsiao-hsien - Saturday, October 10, 3:30pm

All of the Directors Dialogues are free to the general public. Tickets will be distributed one hour before the event. On Cinema costs 15 dollars, or 10 dollars for Film Society members and students.

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting on Sunday, September 13.

The Opening Night Gala screening of Robert Zemeckis’s The Walk in 3D, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe Petit with Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon and Ben Schwartz, has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 26.

This year's New York Film Festival runs from September 25 through October 11.
