Frightfest opening film The Ranger |
The full line-up for this year's Arrow Video Frightfest was announced today, and it's full of horror treats. Opening with Jenn Wexler's The Ranger, a fast-paced, punk-scored actioner starring Chloe Levin, it will close with Gaspar Noé’s Climax. Zombie musical Anna And The Apocalypse, dystopian thriller White Chamber and Irish shocker The Devil's Doorway are among the other highlights.
Fans will also get the chance to attend the première of a documentary about the festival itself, Chris Collier's Frighfest: Beneath The Dark Heart Of Cinema, and Flash Gordon star Sam J Jones documentary Life After Flash adds to the fact-based fun, plus there's a retrospective screening of Julien Temple's Sex Pistols docudrama The Great Rock N' Roll Swindle.
"We have celebrated the astonishing vibrancy of this truly independent genre for 19 years now, and our audience knows that over five joyous days with us they will experience being jolted, shocked, saddened, terrified, provoked, transported, challenged and even transformed," said festival director Alan Jones. "So come and join us on another fabulous voyage of discovery into places many except the bravest FrightFester won’t go."
Special guests are yet to be announced.
Tickets go on sale on 30 June.
