Edinburgh International Film Festival has announced the return of Film Fest in the City - a series of open-air screenings taking place in St Andrew Square Garden on the weekend beginning Friday, 14 June, ahead of the main festival the following week.

The free screenings will include classics, including a 30th anniversary screening of When Harry Met Sally alongside family favourites, including The Iron Giant and more recent crowdpleasers like Mamma Mia! and The Greatest Showman.

No ticket is required for the screenings, with those wishing to attend just needing to turn up on the day.

EIFF artistic director Mark Adams said: “The annual outdoor screenings make for the perfect taster before the festival proper begins a few days later. Watching a film outdoors is such a special experience and it is always gratifying to see film fans arriving at beautiful St Andrew Square Garden for this wonderful social event. We have a lovely blend of old and new, and some musical pleasures alongside animated classics.”

The line-up is below, with exact times being announced nearer the event.
