This year's Arrow Video Frightfest is to be held online, it was announced today. Taking place from the 28th to the 31st of August, the much-loved genre festival will screen up to 25 films, much reduced from its usual line-up. It will still feature special guest introductions and audience Q&A sessions, plus some special events yet to be revealed. Tickets will be geo-blocked for the UK.

"Although we can’t recreate the special atmosphere of our public gatherings, we hope our online event will go some way to bringing the fans and filmmakers back together," said Frightfest co-director Ian Rattray, adding that "of course, we welcome genre fans who have been unable to attend in person before and who will be joining us for the first time."

There will also be an extended Hallowe'en Frightfest programme, which is expected to be held in the West End of London as usual.
