Glasgow Film Festival has announced the first titles of its 2022 hybrid edition - which will run both in person and online from March 2 to 13.

Winds of Change: Cinema in ‘62 will offer free screenings of the standout films from the year 1962. . It was the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis, tensions in the Cold War, Kennedy in the White House and the dawn of political change in the UK. Cinema reflected this by taking baby steps towards maturity. English-language films began to tentatively confront race, sexuality, violence, private freedoms and public responsibilities.

Films screening include To Kill A Mockingbird, Dr No, Lawrence Of Arabia and The Manchurian Candidate and each will have a special introduction from GFF co-director Allan Hunter.

Glasgow Film Festival returns to in-person events with screenings at Glasgow Film Theatre and Cineworld Renfrew Street, as well as cinemas across the UK.

Tickets for the Retrospective screenings will be free and available on the day of the screenings from the GFT Box Office.

Additionally, the festival has announced the seventh edition of its Industry Focus programme, which will run from March 6 to 10 and feature guest speakers and topical discussions. Early Bird Passes will be available to purchase from 15 December from https://glasgowfilm.org/glasgow-film-festival.
